Your role as Product Owner

As a Product Owner, you’re at the heart of Shypple’s development team. In collaboration with the Product Lead and the development team you will ensure that we create maximum value for our platform users.

This is a team effort, where you will take the lead in your development team together with the development team lead. You will work closely with the Product Lead to define the quarterly OKR objectives for your team. Together with your team you will define how to achieve these goals by defining the product development initiatives that support the goals. Prioritizing these is your responsibility.

You are responsible for defining user stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of the prioritized initiatives while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features and components together with the development team lead. Throughout the development cycle you will work with the development team to ensure that there is a shared understanding of user needs and requirements.

When a feature is developed you will verify that all requirements are met, guide the release and launch the feature working closely with marketing and our users both internally and externally.

What you'll be doing

  • Prioritizing features and jointly creating a roadmap strategy;
  • Developing feature stories: analyze and map feature requirements;
  • Accepting stories: test to make improvements and new features;
  • Launching new features and improvements together with the product manager and/or developers by giving demonstrations or training.


What you'll bring

  • Experience in Product Ownership in agile Scrum teams;
  • Experience in managing roadmaps, setting goals, assessing value and the ability to make decisions that lead to maximum value;
  • Experience scoping and defining products / features and creating sprint plans and subsequently managing the execution with development, design and stakeholders;
  • You are a team player with a proven track record of bringing people together and successfully motivating and guiding a team;
  • Excellent communicator, analytical and conceptual thinker;
  • Experience in documenting technical and business processes;
  • It is a nice plus if you have experience with SQL;
  • Communication skills in English (verbal and written).
