As a data analyst, you live and breathe data. In this role, you’re part of every team of Shypple as we want to become thé data-driven online freight forwarder. You will ensure that everybody receives or has access to accurate and timely analyses, performance evaluations and real-time, actionable dashboards. It’s your responsibility to determine what colleagues need, whether they ask for it or not.

Objectives and Key Results

The Data Analyst is accountable for:

  • Manage analytical projects (both business and financial) to analyze, set up and/or improve long term performance metrics, forecasting, and monitoring
  • Provide reliable ad hoc analyses to support short term business decisions
  • Maintenance of existing reports and dashboards and ensuring continuous reliable and timely insights.


Project management (70%)

  1. Manage your own projects w.r.t. performing analyses and creating reports, dashboards, and forecasts
    1. Work closely together with different team(member)s
    2. Support in the development of meaningful KPIs
    3. Gather, clarify and document requirements and consult on them
    4. Perform analyses and build reports in Excel or build dashboards using our dashboarding tool and writing SQL queries
    5. Validate data accuracy
  2. Combine data from different data sources, both incidental and permanent
  3. Identify opportunities for reporting and business improvements
  4. Introduce statistical methods to make better predictions
  5. Provide (not-asked-for) advice and analyses when it comes to managing business processes from a data point of view

Business as usual (30%)

  1. Ensuring data integrity and relevance so the available data can deliver on our reporting needs (10%)
    1. Ensure data integrity
    2. Constantly validate the reliability of the data in our current database/data model
    3. Work with development to make sure that the application supports our reporting needs
    4. Come up with ways to (re)structure our data model and combine different data sources
    5. Defining new data collection and analysis processes
  2. Ensuring data and data model changes are correctly reflected in the associated reports and dashboards (10%)
  3. Ensuring our reporting software is structured (10%)
    1. Manage and design the reporting environment(s)


  • Finished Bachelor University Education, preferably in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or similar
  • 3 years of experience as a Data analyst or similar role
  • Worked for a start-up or otherwise growing company
  • Advanced Excel skills is a must
  • Live and breathe SQL
  • Experience with using a range of data analysis tools
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrable experience in liaising with different functional business departments and understanding their requirements
  • Fluent in English
